In November, the annual Oyster Cook-Off and Craft Beer Weekend at The Hangout in Gulf Shores, AL is the place for oyster lovers to be!  While enjoying scores of cooked oysters, try out the North American Oyster Showcase raw bar. More than a dozen East Coast, West Coast and Gulf Coast farmers and growers share their oysters for ranking and sampling.

Panelists from across the nation convene at Gulf Shores to rate the oysters on a rubric-based, 100 point system and create a guide to tasting oysters. On Saturday, November 5 Cook-Off attendees get to see the 2016 results and taste some of the best oysters from across the continent.

2015 panelists included: Erin Murray (South East), Michael Serpa (New England), Renee Erickson (Pacific NW), Riad Nasr (North East), Wesley True (South East), Bill Smith (South East), Kevin Nashan (Mid West), Brett Martin (South East), Robert Spaulding (Pacific NW), John Bil (Canadian Maritimes), Pam Lolley (South East), Erik Niel (South East), Cynthia Nims (Pacific NW), and Cory Bahr (South East).
