Beer Vinegar Mignonette

Your Oyster Recipe of the Day: Beer Vinegar Mignonette. A lazy, long weekend Saturday calls for an easy recipe. This sweet and tart mignonette from chef Bill Briand at Fisher’s replaces wine vinegar with Back Forty beer vinegar and forgoes shallots to let a touch of hops shine through.

You can buy Back Forty Beer Vinegar at the Back Forty store.

What Is Beer Vinegar Anyway?

Don’t confuse beer vinegar with malt vinegar. Malt vinegar is made from malted barley that is brewed into ale and then made into vinegar. Beer vinegar can be made with your favorite beer. While malt vinegar is made without hops, beer vinegar can be as hoppy as the beer you start with.
